Postini Partners With IMLogic For Integrated Messaging Security
Alliance brings IMLogic's instnant messaging security to Postini's hosted messaging system.
Postini and IMlogic announced a strategic partnership to collaborate on resolving threats and malware that propagate the e-mail and instant messaging networks. Postini will integrate IMlogic technology in Postini's e-mail processing infrastructure to provide a comprehensive perimeter management service that covers threats and policy enforcement for all forms of electronic messaging.
As part of the agreement, Postini and IMlogic will exchange real-time threat and messaging activity data, which is thought to provide the world's largest and most sophisticated electronic messaging threat monitoring system. The relationship is designed to addresses the growth of IM threats, as well as the emergence of e-mail and instant messaging "blended" threats.
"Instant messaging is catching up to e-mail as a mission-critical communications tool for corporate users," said Scott Petry, senior vice president of products and engineering at Postini. "But the vast majority of IM usage is not managed or secured by IT today." He added that by adding IMlogic technology, Postini can deliver a comprehensive, fully managed security and compliance platform that brings all forms of electronic messaging into the IT-managed fold.
